Greg Stafford
National Council Rep - Navy

Gregory A. Stafford was elected to a four-year term on the VFW’s National Council of Administration on July 25, 2018, at the 119th VFW National Convention in Kansas City, Mo., representing the Department of North Carolina.  

 
Gregory served in the United States Navy from 1983 to 2005, earning his VFW eligibility by serving during Operation Enduring Freedom. In recognition of his service, he received four Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medals, two Navy Achievement Medals, six Good Conduct Medals, two National Defense Service Medals, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, among others.

 
He joined the VFW in 2008 at Post 6060 in Elizabeth City, N.C., where he maintains his Life membership. He has served in elected and appointed positions at the Post, District and Department Levels, culminating with his election as Department Commander in 2017. On the national level, he has served on the National Security and Foreign Affairs Committee.
 
 
Gregory received his bachelor’s degree in History and Secondary Education from Elizabeth State University in 2009. He is now retired.

 
He is a life member of the VFW National Home, and a member of the Military Order of the Cootie.

 
Gregory resides in Camden, N.C.
