Alecia was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and joined the Air Force after graduating from high school in 1990. She served as an in-flight refueling specialist and was stationed at Minot AFB in ND, Fairchild AFB in WA, and McGuire AFB in NJ. She has deployed in support of several operations, including Desert Storm, Desert Strike, Northern Watch, Southern Watch, Provide Comfort, Desert Fox, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom. She currently resides in Salisbury, NC. She joined Rockwell VFW Post 9134 in 2010, soon after retiring from the Air Force, and is a legacy life member. She is currently a member of VFW Post 5352 in Kernersville, NC and is a life member of the Military Order of the Cootie.

Alecia has an Associate degree in Applied Science in Aviation Operations from the Community College of the Air Force, a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource Development from Southwestern University, a Master’s of Arts degree in Human Services: Health & Wellness from Liberty University, and a Master’s of Science degree in Special Education from University of North Carolina Charlotte.
